Welcome to my master's capstone e-portfolio ...
When I completed the work represented in this portfolio, I was Assistant Head of School and College Prep & Information Literacy Teacher at Conserve School, a conservation-based semester school for high school juniors, where I oversaw the academic program. At that time, I was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where I taught curriculum development and instructional methods in the Graduate Program in Residential Environmental Education.
The image you see above shows a student's gloved hands holding a monarch she has just tagged. I planted and maintained a butterfly garden, and collected and tagged monarchs, with students as part of a citizen science project for seven years while I worked at Conserve School.
In 2008, about the same time that I started the butterfly project, I was looking for a new academic challenge. The fast-growing and ever-changing field of educational technology seemed an obvious choice. As a result, I began the MSU MAET online program.
This portfolio highlights how I grew professionally through my experiences in the Michigan State University Master of Arts in Educational Technology program.
